Scott Simmons is currently an intern who lives and works in a monastic community called Richmond Hill located in Church Hill, Richmond, VA. Richmond Hill is an ecumenical Christian retreat center dedicated to the healing of metropolitan Richmond through prayer, hospitality, racial reconciliation, and spiritual development. Church Hill is one of the most impoverished sections of metropolitan Richmond with high unemployment and imprisonment. It is also the oldest and one of the most beautiful parts of Richmond. Scott enjoys conversations over soda (because he doesn’t like coffee), walking to LIbby Hill Park and Chimborazo Park (both have great views, especially at sunset), playing ultimate frisbee, living the monastic lifestyle, and thinking about deep and (hopefully) important stuff.
